Nicolaas Käller was launched into the music industry at the age of twelve as part of the dutch boyband ‘’Mainstreet’’. When the boyband hype took off in 2013, the guys from Mainstreet were at the forefront of the madness and hysteria that came with it. After five years, Nicolaas and band members Rein, Owen and Daan decided to part their ways.

After a year of focussing on producing music and studying at the Conservatory, Nicolaas decided to stop music indefinitely. ‘’After the madness of Mainstreet, which I ended up in as a young, ignorant kid, I wanted to make as much music as possible. In the end, I was just drained and couldn’t see the fun in it anymore.’’

After a year of silence, Nicolaas decided to start working on new songs. ‘’At first I just wanted to make music again, without deadlines and pressure. During the first lockdown I was able to work on my songs in peace in my studio’’. Among those songs was the debut single ‘’No Plans No Friends’’, a cheerful record that was released in June 2020.

Soon after, he met up with Erik Bandt and they started writing more songs together. The first song they wrote was ‘’Once Upon A Time In Amsterdam’’ and soon after they got the band together, called ‘’The Hondos’’. To continue the legacy of his Indo-roots, Nicolaas decided to name the band after the one of his grandparents.
